After years of research, I was delighted to share Past as Prologue to Peace in Post-Genocide Cambodia with colleagues, family and friends. The PhD journey is not for the fainthearted and the immense flexibility and resilience required can be equal parts rewarding and draining. It is also a milestone only made possible through the love and support of my family, friends and multiple communities and the patience and guidance of my advisor, Dr. Jing Lin.
Happily, with nearly 80 people in attendance, I was able to defend my work and pass!
I feel eternally grateful for completing the PhD program, but perhaps even more so for the relationships and knowledge I was able to discover along the way. A special thanks to the participants in the study for their generosity of time, insights and life stories. And another special thanks to my dissertation committee members who took the time to read 320+ pages of writing that will greatly improve thanks to their expertise and feedback.
